One year we stayed in the cabins. There was a clubhouse then. We went to the clubhouse and we all did the Bunny Hop. Either Aunt Nita led it or one of Doris's girls. Can we bunny hop at Taik o'Khota? And we need to write about LeRoy Percy Park...you could ride your bike out there and stop and drink water from a pump. The swimming pool water was artesan well water. More, more, more....

Swiftwater was the place where the water supposedly ran the fastest in the flood of 27. I do not remember Granny or Granddaddy talking about the flood. Marjorie was not yet born. Where were they during the flood of 27?

And later, after we no longer went to LeRoy Percy as a family group, I still went, and they penned the alligators up. You could feed them...25 cents to feed part of the, 50 to feed them all. I didn't dare feed only half...and the alligator food? Marshmellows...Alligators loved marshmellows even more than crickets...you would hit the wooden fence plank, and the alligators would begin thrashing their tails, and I'm sorry y'all missed it and that you didn't fall into the lake when you were fishing.

Does anybody else remember spending the night in cabins and doing the bunny hop? Yogi? Nita?

oops...I meant I'm glad you didn't fall in the lake when you were fishing, and that you weren't carrying marshmellows. Ouch. I'm chagrined.

And...Swiftwater is between Itta Bena and Belzoni...why would we go that way to LeRoy Percy? I do remember going that way, but it seems just going down 61 would have been a straighter shot.
