Movies

How many were at the movie theater in Ruleville when Ronald fell asleep and Gary had to practically drag him out--Ronald bent at the waist just nearly asleep all the way out.

Why do I remember and dog that did tricks (chased and cauhgt its tail among them) and western serials? Scarlett

Camellia says: Was that Pinocchio, and was that the night we got to walk home along the railroad tracks, rather than being picked up by the grown-ups? I remember Ronald not waking up.

And when we were even younger than that, we used to go to the serials on Saturday, both at Cleveland and Ruleville. It cost 35 cents, and that was the movie, candy or popcorn and a coke..not enough for both candy and popcorn.

And once Imogene and Franklin took us to the movie in Drew. It had a curtain across the door to the theatre and Lavender and Old Lace was playing.

Did we see a movie about Ray Charles one time? I seem to remember that--like Jamie Fox's movie is not the first. Scarlett

there was a blind Ray Charles movie. And did we go see Chuck Berry, Rock around the Clock, while the grown-ups went bowling? Rembmer bowling? I love bowling. And the skating rink? Good Ed, I remembered the skating rink, first. And the first time I went ice skating was in Baltimore or Chicago.

Marjorie chapharoned a church group at Morrison skating rink. Who remembers our Vowell skating party there? At any rate, they played the last song, and all the kids were taking off their skates Marjorie went around "one more time." Kablam. Broken arm, set by that quake doctor who lived across the street from her. I think it set a bit crooked. The doctor was chased out of town, but for different reasons, the arm healed, and Marjorie kept on having fun. Guess she took after the mother who fished and mowed her own lawn, though those two things, Marjorie did not count as fun, and she did other things, like driving like a bat of of....where? Did anybody ride with her? In the mountains?
